This policy explains what personal data Ledgerline collects, why, and what rights you have. We keep data collection to a minimum.

What we collect and why
If you sign up for the checklist or our emails
We collect your email address so we can send you the checklist and occasional pension guides. Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us.
If you contact us
We collect your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us, so we can reply. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). Please don't send us sensitive financial details such as account numbers or PPS numbers.
When you visit the site
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, in server logs. We use this to keep the site secure and working (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)).
The tax relief calculator
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored.
Cookies and analytics
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Only technically necessary cookies, if any, are set. If we add analytics or advertising in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Website hosting: our web hosting provider
- Email newsletter: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France)
If any of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on safeguards approved under GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days.
- Messages you send us: up to 12 months after our last exchange.
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how we process it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie.
Children
Ledgerline is written for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
